The Toronto based sextet Strings from Paris or sFp has been taking the industry by storm. Since their concert debut in Fall 2022 they have have amassed a substantial online following with their string arrangements of popular music specializing in hip-hop.

They are signed with Kilometre Music Group working in their studios across the street from the Art Gallery of Ontario.

Cellist, Writer & Co-Founder

Paul Van Der Sloot and Andrew T. Park met in Calgary, AB and quickly discovered a shared love for rock, funk and jazz. A premier cello duo that flows through a repertoire of classical music, jazz standards and the popular music of various places and era.

Currently the resident cellist of the Madoc String Quartet, Andrew Park performs regularly with many elite classical musicians concertizing in string quartet, trio and duo, as well as, but not limited to, piano trio, cello-guitar duo , and cello-piano duo. Highlights include his 2019 Western Canada tour with the Crimson String Quartet filling in for Alyssa Ramsay of the Winnipeg Symphony and his 2022/23 recitals with sonata partner pianist Mariya Orlenko performing the Rachmaninov and Beethoven A Major Cello-Piano Sonatas.

Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra alumni, Andrew Park has played with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra and has sat principal in the Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra and The Rose Orchestra Brampton.

Mentored by the Canadian juggernaut Gryphon Trio, The Walden Trio has performed in festivals and competitions in Canada, the United States, Norway and Mexico. Notable performances include the hall premier of the C-Space Art centre in Calgary, AB and performing with The Danish String Quartet’s Asbjørn Nørgaard in the Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition Festival in 2018.

Having worked in many folk, hip-hop, rock and pop studio recordings Andrew Park has become familiar in contemporary music production recording and editing much of his own comissions for labels and indepent artists across Canada.

It all started in 2021 when the Mosaic Yoga Studios began presenting small intimate acoustic concerts in their resonant hardwood studio featuring western classical music, Indian raga music and contemporary songwriters alike.

After releasing his debut EP “Lucid Dream” at the age of 15 Andrew Park went on to win multiple singing and songwriting competitions in Toronto. Since completing his Performance Degree in Cello Andrew has began work on his debut album Paradise Lost.

Songwriting came naturally to Andrew, but it wasn’t until he began studying composition in university that he was able to fully realize his thematic ideas in full through notation and conventional harmony. It was the cello quartet that allowed him to test and develop his compositional style. His music has been compared stylistically to Destiny’s Child and Mozart.
